Emily joined Lazar Fort Mill with a Bachelor’s degree in middle-grade education from Mercer University in GA and a Master’s in instruction from Central Michigan University. She brings over 30 years of experience working with children, including 13+ years in the classroom teaching 4th-7th grades. Her passion lies in helping children build their self-esteem and confidence, by helping to improve their academic skills, especially in reading, which she considers her superpower.
Outside of tutoring, Emily cherishes time with family and friends, traveling to her daughter’s track meets, where she can often be seen cheering until she almost loses her voice 😄, and taking peaceful walks around the neighborhood lake.
Josephine
TUTOR
Josephine’s passion for teaching began in high school, where she worked at a daycare and volunteered to read with younger children. These experiences sparked her love for helping students discover their potential and build confidence. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Early Education with a concentration in Science from East Carolina University, she became a second-grade teacher, finding immense joy in guiding her students’ academic and personal growth.
Now at Lazar Center, Josephine is excited to bring her expertise and enthusiasm to each student she works with. Her mission is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where children can thrive and develop a lifelong love of learning.
